Gruden Apologizes To 'Raider Nation' After Ugly Loss In ATL

ATLANTA (AP) — Raiders coach Jon Gruden apologized after his team set season highs for penalties, turnovers and sacks allowed in a miserable 43-6 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

Gruden's apology "to the Raider nation" came after an especially ugly outing for quarterback Derek Carr, who was sacked five times. Carr threw an interception that was returned by Deion Jones for a touchdown and he had three of the team's four lost fumbles.

Carr said the bad performance began with a poor week of practice. Gruden said he's not worried about the ugly loss having a carryover effect with Carr or the team.
