A new program in North Las Vegas aims to help residents struggling financially because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Residents who provide proof of financial hardship can apply online for a CARES Housing Assistance Program grant.

Applicants must have less than $3,000 in liquid assets and show a financial impact such as reduction of pay or work hours, furlough, unemployment, or reduction in business income.

If approved, payments will be made to their landlord, mortgage company, or utility company. Anyone currently receiving a subsidy from another rental assistance program or living in public housing is ineligible.
