Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper On Leave After Violent Arrest

RENO, Nev. (AP) — The Nevada Highway Patrol says a state trooper has been placed on administrative leave after he violently arrested a woman who attempted to flee in Sparks.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reported that patrol spokesperson Hannah DeGoey said that the arrest occurred Sept. 27 at a Sinclair gas station.

An investigation is ongoing. DeGoey declined to release further details.

The Reno Gazette-Journal obtained a copy of security footage from the gas station that shows the trooper grabbing the woman, pulling her to the ground and eventually punching her in the face.
