Democrats Eye Supermajority In Battleground Statehouse Races

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Democrats are working to up their control of Nevada's Legislature to give them the two-thirds majority needed to pass tax increases that can help offset the pandemic's economic fallout.

Democrats won the governorship and a veto-proof supermajority in the state Assembly in 2018.

Now, they're trying to flip one state Senate seat so that they can offset unprecedented revenue shortfalls caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
