CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Health officials on Sunday reported 373 new positive coronavirus cases in Nevada along with three additional deaths.

That increases the statewide totals to 78,728 cases and 1,585 known deaths since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

Nevada Department of Health Services officials had reported 602 new cases on Saturday, the largest number since Aug. 29, with nine additional deaths.

They said of the nearly 79,000 statewide cases, a majority have been in Clark County.

The number of infections is thought to be far higher because many people have not been tested, and studies suggest people can be infected with the virus without feeling sick.
