LAS VEGAS (AP) — Federal prosecutors have charged a Las Vegas man with identity theft and fraud-related charges after investigators found the man possessed nearly two dozen unemployment benefits cards in other people's names.
The U.S. Attorney's Office in Nevada said Monday that 38-year-old Vincent Okoye was arrested last Friday. Prosecutors say investigators searching Okoye's home found more than 100 credit and debit cards not issued in his name.
They say there were 11 unemployment benefits debit cards issued in Nevada and 12 from Arizona that had been issued in other people's names. Okoye does not yet have an attorney to comment on his behalf.
