Traffic officers for the City of Henderson made hundreds of traffic stops during an 11-day operation focusing on pedestrian safety.

The operation ran from Aug. 10 through Aug. 21 and resulted in 237 speeding citations and 76 pedestrian safety citations, police said.

It was part of the valley's ongoing Joining Forces program, which conducts targeted enforcement of traffic violations, including DUIs.

The city said the department has received more than $201,000 through the Nevada Department of Public Safety to fund the operations this year.
