UMC Asks Only People With Symptoms, Exposure Get Tested For Coronavirus

University Medical Center is now asking members of the public without COVID-19 symptoms, or exposure to a confirmed case of the disease, not to make an appointment at one of its large drive-thru testing sites.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that the request marks a change after a steady rise in testing over the last two months.

The director of the Nevada State Public Health Laboratory in Reno says laboratories across the country are at capacity for processing tests, with test results taking up to several weeks to be returned.
