Residents and businesses in North Las Vegas will be able to claim a share of $15.5 million to help with rent, utility bills, daycare and more after the City Council Wednesday accepted CARES Act funds from Clark County totaling $23.8 million.
About $3.3 million of that will be used to cover some of the city’s coronavirus-related costs, such as overtime for police and fire, personal protective equipment, and deep cleaning of facilities, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
The county will hold back $5 million to use in case there is a regional emergency, with that money passed on to North Las Vegas in October if it isn’t used.
