Nevada is one of 18 states White House officials consider to be in the “red zone” for COVID-19 cases.
A report prepared for President Donald Trump’s coronavirus task force recommends stricter social distancing and face-covering policies in the states that have seen 10 percent or more of coronavirus tests coming back positive.
The document was dated Tuesday, July 14, but wasn’t publicized until a Washington, DC nonprofit Center for Public Integrity wrote about it Thursday.
Neighboring states Arizona, California and Utah are also among the states where the document suggests tighter restrictions to combat the virus.
