The unemployment rate in Southern Nevada in May was 29 percent.
The Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation reported the new rate Tuesday.
That new rate is compared with 34 percent in April. Las Vegas added 20,900 jobs over the course of a month, the department said.
