Gov. Steve Sisolak announced that Nevada will stay in Phase 2 of reopening through the end of July.
The governor made the announcement because of trends in COVID-19 infection rates.
The order will give the state more time to expand contact tracing and see the impacts of the face-covering order, the governor's office said in a statement released Monday afternoon.
"Flexibility is one of the core principles in our Roadmap to Recovery, precisely to account for the situation we are in now," the governor said in a statement, "As I've said repeatedly, the virus -- and our personal actions to help mitigate its spread - drives the timeline."
Under Phase 2, gyms and fitness facilities were allowed to reopen, public and private gatherings were moved from 10 people to 50 people and bars that don't serve food were allowed to reopen.
