Gov. Asks Medical Advisors To Review Mask Rules

Governor Steve Sisolak is asking his COVID-19 medical advisers to review face-covering policies for Nevada.

A statement from his office noted the use of face coverings when out in public is seen as one of the strongest methods of mitigating the spread of COVID-19 and that employees in the state who interact with the public are required to wear face coverings.

The governor wants his Medical Advisory Team to evaluate potential options for what he called “enhanced face-covering policies” as the state moves forward in its phased reopening.

Recent media reports indicate counting on people to voluntarily wear masks in public has had mixed results.

Nevada reported 445 additional new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, the second straight day the state recorded its largest single-day jump in new cases since the start of the pandemic.
