Traffic On Highways Grows As Southern Nevada Reopens

The Las Vegas Valley’s freeway system saw a bump in traffic during Phase One of Nevada’s reopening plan, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

The reopening of some businesses produced a 9 percent increase in traffic volume on Interstate 15, U.S. 95 and the 215 Beltway during the third week of May when compared to April, according to data from the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada.

The data is collected at five locations on each freeway. The RTC's CEO said there’s been a gradual upward trend in traffic volumes across Southern Nevada during Phase One.
