Henderson Updates Comprehensive Plan To Address Affordable Housing

The Henderson City Council voted to approve an update to its comprehensive development plan to address affordable housing issues.

At a meeting Tuesday, Councilman John Marz raised the topic of assisting prospective homebuyers. He says down payments are a hurdle for a lot of renters who would otherwise buy a home.

The Henderson Housing and Community Development Strategy aims to “offer a variety of well-designed housing choices with differing levels of affordability” and improve access to “amenities and services to meet the needs of all residents,” such as schools, jobs and places to buy healthy food.
