Gov. Sisolak Cancels In-Person News Conference Over Virus Exposure Concerns

Gov. Steve Sisolak has canceled his in-person news conference planned for Tuesday evening out of an abundance of caution after a possible exposure to the coronavirus, his office announced Tuesday afternoon.

Instead, the governor will release a pre-recorded video updating the state on the reopening plans.

Last week, the governor visited a workplace where an employee, who was not there at the time of the visit, tested positive for coronavirus. The governor's office learned of the positive test Tuesday.

The governor will be taking a test for the virus Wednesday morning. He will update Nevadans on the test results as soon as possible. His office says Sisolak has not displayed any symptoms of the virus.

Gov. Sisolak is expected to announce that Nevada casinos can reopen June 4. The Gaming Control Board spent almost three hours Tuesday working up rules casinos will have to follow to get the OK to emerge from the coronavirus shutdown.
