Excessive Heat Warning In Las Vegas; Record Highs At Reno, Tahoe

RENO, Nev. (AP) — A heatwave is continuing across the entire state of Nevada, where new record highs have been set at Lake Tahoe and Reno and more records are in jeopardy through Friday from Las Vegas to Elko.

Dangerously hot conditions for late May have triggered an excessive heat warning effective through 8 p.m. Friday for Las Vegas.

Record- to near-record highs are expected between 105 and 110 degrees. The high of 92 at Reno-Tahoe International Airport Tuesday broke the old record of 91 set in 1966.
