Clark County Approves Voluntary Furlough Program

Clark County Commissioners approved voluntary separation and furlough programs for Clark County, UMC, and water reclamation district employees.

Staff can get a full week of pay for every two years of employment and will be eligible for two years of health insurance coverage.

The voluntary furlough program also allows employees to take unpaid time off.

Commissioner Jim Gibson said that similar measures were an effective tool during the economic crisis some ten years ago. The voluntary separation program allows employees to resign or retire by June 30.
