The American Hockey League canceled the remainder of its regular season and the playoffs Monday, marking the end of the Vegas Golden Knights’ affiliation with the Chicago Wolves, their top minor league team.
The Knights will have a new AHL affiliate next season after purchasing the San Antonio team and relocating it to a new arena in Henderson to have a team close to home.
That team will inherit many of the Wolves’ current players.
