State Orders Clinic To Stop Coronavirus Testing

The state health department has ordered a Las Vegas clinic to stop testing for COVID-19.

The Sahara West Urgent Care and Wellness center had been offering rapid blood testing for the coronavirus, but was told Tuesday to stop because it was not licensed to perform the tests.

The Department of Health and Human Services said the blood test used at the facility would not have a definitive result and people who were tested should see their doctor to determine if they need another test.

The clinic told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that it tried to talk to the state about its operations but was not successful.
