Nevada Saw Jump In Construction Jobs In March

Nevada and New Mexico led the nation with a 2 percent jump in construction industry employment in March, according to a report from the Associated General Contractors of America.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that an estimated 101,100 people worked in Nevada’s construction industry last month.

The trade association said construction employment rose month to month in 24 states, showed little change in six, and dropped in 20 states and Washington, D.C.

AGC chief economist said that since that data was collected many states, local governments and project owners have halted construction.

In Nevada, Governor Steve Sisolak has deemed construction an essential business and work can continue with proper coronavirus precautions.
