Nevada District To Vote On Appointing Interim Superintendent

RENO, Nev.  — A school district in northwest Nevada has decided to end its superintendent search and vote on whether or not to appoint its interim superintendent to the permanent position.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reported Tuesday that the Washoe County School District Board expects to vote on appointing Kristen McNeill at its April 28 meeting.

McNeill was named interim superintendent on July 1 after the school board voted to remove former superintendent Traci Davis from her position.

Board President Malena Raymond says the decision to suspend the search has already changed the national candidate pool, adding that she had hesitations on the making the decision.
