Air quality in the Las Vegas Valley in March was much better than in February.
There was a 33 percent decrease in small particulate matter and nitrogen dioxide from February to March, according to data from the county’s Department of Environment and Sustainability released Monday, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
One likely reason is that traffic in the county dropped dramatically following Gov. Steve Sisolak’s March 20 stay at home order closing nonessential businesses.

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada reported that traffic on the valley’s roads was down 36 percent in March compared to last March.
Traffic volume was down 73 percent on Interstate 15 near the Nevada-California line.
