Trooper Shot, Vehicle Stolen, Man Held In Northeast Nevada

ELY, Nev. (AP) — Authorities say a highway patrol trooper was shot, his patrol vehicle was stolen and a suspect was arrested with possible explosives several hours later in a remote area of northeastern Nevada.

The Nevada Highway Patrol did not immediately provide information about the trooper, but said the shooting happened about 6 a.m. Friday on U.S. 93 south of the White Pine County seat of Ely.

Lincoln County Sheriff Kerry Lee says the male suspect was apprehended after a manhunt and materials that might be explosives were being investigated.
