RENO, Nev. (AP) — Reno firefighters on ladders rescued two people from a burning apartment building after a young child was dropped to safety from a third-floor window and caught by a passer-by.
No injuries were reported and there was no immediate word on cause of the fire Thursday.
Battalion Chief John McNamara said firefighters on a medical call diverted to the apartment building after spotting smoke. McNamara said the arriving firefighters saw a crowd outside the building and a child being dangled out of a window.
