Utah Shakespeare Festival Co-Founder Has Died

Utah Shakespeare Festival co-founder Fred Adams has died. He was 89. Adams founded the festival with his wife on a $1,000 budget in 1961.

Today, the event in Cedar City, Utah draws approximately 100,000 audience members and has an annual budget of more than $8 million. 

It features plays by Shakespeare but also plays and musicals from other playwrights.
