A fire official says police and fire officials are investigating the cause of a mattress fire at the Excalibur hotel-casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
A deputy Clark County fire chief says sprinklers activated when the fire was reported about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in a sixth-floor room.

An injured person was treated by paramedics and may not have needed to go to a hospital. The hotel has 26 floors and almost 4,000 rooms. The fire official says no evacuations were needed.
