Authorities say California and Nevada police fatally shot a murder suspect during a "high-risk" traffic stop near the state line.
Officials say the Kern County Sheriff's Department had alerted San Bernardino deputies on Wednesday to watch for an "armed and dangerous" man.

They say he was found on the Interstate 15 shoulder near Nipton and officers from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, the California Highway Patrol and the Nevada Highway Patrol opened fire.
The investigation closed the freeway's northbound lanes from Wednesday into Thursday. I-15 is the main route between Southern California and Las Vegas.
