Changes To Food Stamp Program Could Take 30,000 Nevadans Off The Program

The Trump administration’s plan to reduce food stamp benefits could take more than 30,000 Nevadans off of food stamp benefits.

An analysis by the think tank the Urban Institute says benefit reduction would come from limiting the ability of states to extend benefits in areas with high unemployment.

Nevada is expected to see the biggest drop in food stamp eligibility of any state, with SNAP participation expected to fall by 22 percent.
