Nevada School District To Adopt Misconduct Reporting System

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada's Clark County School District plans to use a telephone line and website allowing employees and volunteers to file reports of harassment and mistreatment.

KSNV-TV reported Sunday that the district's board of trustees last week approved a $45,000 contract with NAVEX Global Inc. to run the anonymous reporting system.

Officials say the Ethicspoint Incident Management software system will provide a phone hotline and a secure website portal 24 hours a day.

Officials say the nation's fifth-largest school district that includes Las Vegas plans to catalog the data as an improved method of identifying and addressing serious misconduct.

Trustee Linda Young says the system is intended to address "a climate of mistrust" within the district.
