Metro Police Plans To Expand 'Shotspotter' Technology

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said it is planning to expand ‘ShotSpotter’ gunfire detection technology into more neighborhoods in the Las Vegas Valley.

The acoustic detection technology uses audio sensors to detect, locate and alert police agencies to the location of gunfire incidents in real-time.

Police say it has helped cut down the time it takes for officers to respond to incidents involving firearms.
