Microplastics Found In Lake Tahoe

Scientists have found microplastics in Lake Tahoe.

A team of researchers from Desert Research Institute discovered the tiny pieces of plastic at several locations around the lake this year.

The study of microplastics is relatively new, so the team is working to understand what this means for human health and the environment of the Tahoe Basin.

DRI said they are also studying the Las Vegas wash in Southern Nevada, which drains into Lake Mead, which is a primary reservoir for water users.
