Former Las Vegas Casino Security Guard Acquitted In Rape Case

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A jury has acquitted a former Las Vegas Strip security guard after trial in a rape case.

Court records show that 41-year-old Robert Ray Laws was found not guilty Friday of kidnapping, sexual assault and burglary in a case that came to light in September 2017.

Laws' attorney, Dustin Marcello, tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal he appreciates that the jury took a thoughtful look at the evidence and facts in the case.

Laws denied detaining and forcing a woman into sex acts in a hotel stairwell at the New York-New York resort, where he worked.
