Crews Battle Wildfire Near Laughlin

Clark County Firefighters and Metro Police are fighting a wildfire near Big Bend State Park just southwest of Laughlin.

The fire began early Sunday afternoon and reached a size of just over 100 acres as of last night.  A portion of Needles Highway between Laughlin and Needles, California, was shut down after the fire began, and it may remain closed into Monday afternoon.

The Nevada Division of Forestry is investigating the cause of the fire while Metro Police, Clark County Firefighters, and the San Bernardino County Fire District are assisting.
