WCSD Interim Superintendent Not Sure About Taking Job Permanently

Following the decision by the Washoe County School District to fire superintendent Traci Davis, the interim superintendent says she’s not sure if she wants the top post permanently.

In an interview with the Reno Gazette-Journal, Kristen McNeil said she will take over the largest district in northern Nevada with all the care it deserves, but hasn’t made any decisions.

The board voted 6-1 Monday to fire Davis for cause, after an investigation found Davis may have leaked confidential information about other employees.

It’s the latest in an ongoing saga between the district and former superintendent Davis, in which both sides have acknowledged they will likely end up in court.

McNeil has worked for the district for the past 20 years.
