GOP Business Owner Sutton Running For Nevada House Seat

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Republican business owner and former Miss Nevada is running for a Nevada congressional seat held by Democrat Steven Horsford.

Lisa Song Sutton announced Monday that she's running for the sprawling congressional seat that includes urban areas of Las Vegas and wide stretches of desert and rural towns.

Sutton says she co-founded a bakery, a shipping store, a lingerie store and a real estate brokerage. She's also the 2014 winner of Miss Nevada.

Sutton cites vacant storefronts and veterans in need of assistance as the reason she's running for office. She says politicians have failed Nevada and she is tired of "partisan bickering" and "gossip about the President."

Horsford was elected to the seat in 2018 and previously held the seat from 2013 to 2015.
