The shooter in the California festival attack legally purchased his firearm in Nevada.

Gilroy Police Chief Scot Smithee said 19-year-old Santino William Legan appeared to randomly target people when he fired with a rifle Sunday afternoon at the end of the three-day Gilroy Garlic Festival.

A 6-year-old boy and a 13-year old girl and a man in his 20s were killed during the attack, and 12 other people were injured.
