Board Of Regents Tells College Presidents To Look For Money For Faculty Raises

The Nevada Board of Regents is directing college presidents to find ways to accomplish three percent pay raises for faculty and staff despite a $6.4 million shortfall from the Legislature.

The board voted 7-5 Tuesday to make the directive and have presidents report back with their plan in December.

The shortfall came to light in the final hours of the legislative session, and was blamed on a miscalculation.
