2 Indicted, 1 Taking Plea In California Doctor Slaying Case

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A woman is taking a plea deal while a former magazine model and the model's boyfriend head to trial in the killing of a 71-year-old California psychiatrist whose body was found in a car outside Las Vegas.

Diana Pena's attorney, Jess Matsuda, declined Monday to say what crime or crimes his 30-year-old client will admit in the death of Dr. Thomas Burchard.

Pena is due in court Thursday and remains in custody on murder and conspiracy charges, but her lawyer says she cooperated with police and prosecutors since surrendering for arrest April 13.
