Laxalt Hosting Basque Fry, Western Conservative Conference

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Former Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt is hosting his annual Basque Fry fundraiser in northern Nevada this year and partnering with organizers of the largest annual gathering of conservatives to host an offshoot event in the West.

Laxalt's Morning in Nevada Political Action Committee announced Tuesday it will hold a western version of the Conservative Political Action Conference in Reno called CPAC West on September 13 and the Basque cookout the following day in Gardnerville.

Laxalt, who unsuccessfully ran for governor last year, held the cookout and fundraiser every year while offering GOP officials and rising stars on the political right a chance to mingle with voters and Nevada politicians over traditional Basque dishes like deep-fried lamb testicles.
