Governor Orders Flags Lowered To Honor Lawmaker

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak has ordered U.S. and state flags flown at half-staff at the State Capitol and state public buildings and grounds until sunset Tuesday in honor of Assemblyman Tyrone Thompson.

A news release from Assembly Democrats said the 51-year-old North Las Vegas Democrat died early Saturday while receiving "emergency care" in Carson City.

Sisolak said on Twitter said he was heartbroken by the death of Thompson whom the governor said "stood larger-than-life because of his selfless service to his fellow Nevadans. "
