Only 2 Pot Arrests In Reno During 4/20 DUI Patrols

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Reno police say they made six DUI arrests during stepped up patrols over the weekend for the unofficial 4/20 activities tied to the April 20 celebration of marijuana.

Police say only two of the arrests Saturday and early Sunday were specifically cannabis related.

Officers made 66 stops and wrote 31 citations for various violations during the DUI saturation patrols made possible by special grants from the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety.

Marijuana users have for decades celebrated their love of the drug on April 20.

It's been legal in Nevada since July 2017 for adults to possess up to one ounce of pot but remains illegal to use in public or be under its influence while operating a motor vehicle.
