Nevada DMV To Allow Gender Neutral Designation On IDs

The Nevada Department of Motor vehicles announced that Nevada residents can now choose gender “X” on their IDs.

The move is in response to accommodating individuals who do not identify with a specific gender and would like to remain gender neutral on their state-issued driver’s licenses and ID cards.

A gender change to a license or ID must be completed in person at a DMV office. The DMV is working to be in line with other agencies including the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services, which changed its rules in 2016.
