Measurements Show Sierra Nevada Snowpack Well Above Average

Several snowpack measurements around Lake Tahoe have confirmed that the winter of 2018-2019 had well above average snowfall.

The Tahoe Daily Tribune reports that measurements at Phillips Station, next to Sierra-at-Tahoe ski resort, found 106.5 inches of snow, about twice the average depth for the location.

That news came one day after a manual snowpack measurement at Mt. Rose in Nevada, which indicated that last winter was the fourth largest in the Tahoe Basin since regular record keeping started in 1981.
