Cortez Masto Looks To Increase Government Response To Violence Against Native American Women

Nevada U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto and two other senators introduced legislation to accelerate the federal government’s response to the killing, kidnapping and trafficking of Native American women.

The Huffington Post reports Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski and Montana Senator Jon Tester joined Cortez Masto in sponsoring the Not Invisible Act.

The legislation would form an advisory committee to determine and report to the Justice and Interior Departments the best ways to deal with the increasing problem of violence against indigenous people
