Bill To Increase Minimum Wage Gets Hearing In Carson City

A bill to raise Nevada’s minimum wage to $12 an hour faced its first legislative hearing Tuesday.

The rate would gradually increase to that amount over a five-year period. former Republican Governor Brian Sandoval vetoed a similar bill in the 2017 legislative session.

But Democratic Governor Steve Sisolak has expressed his support for such a measure.
