Bill Would Put California On Daylight Saving Time Permenently

Sunday morning, California clocks will spring forward one hour – possibly for the last time.

Assembly member Kansen Chu is pushing for legislation that would keep California permanently on Daylight Saving Time.

In the 2018 midterm election, a ballot initiative, which proposed authorizing the state legislature to reform daylight saving time, passed the vote by 60 percent.

Such a policy change would require two-thirds approval in the legislature, then passage in Congress and a presidential signature.

Chu believes keeping clocks on Daylight Saving Time will benefit public health and safety.
