2 Reno Suspects Arrested In Series Of Power Pole Wire Thefts

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Washoe County sheriff's deputies have arrested two suspects in a series of wire thefts from power poles north of town over the past two weeks.

The sheriff's office launched an investigation March 5 after a deputy noticed wires had been cut from power poles along the dirt road extension of North Virginia Street in the north valleys.

Similar damage was discovered two days later and again last Friday.

A deputy came upon a suspicious woman in a car Sunday morning in the area and later found a man hiding nearby with a pair of bolt cutters.

Deputies say 41-year-old Harry Hodgerney of Reno has been booked on charges of burglary, grand larceny and destruction of property and 35-year-old Roxanne Pemberton has been charged as an accomplice.

It's not clear if they have lawyers or will be appointed one.
