Sen. Romney's Niece, RNC Chairwoman Speaks Out About Op-Ed

Utah Senator-elect Mitt Romney was scolded Wednesday by his niece, Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, for criticizing President Donald Trump in a Washington Post op-ed days before being sworn into office.

McDaniel said it was “disappointing and unproductive” for her uncle, the 2012 Republican presidential nominee and former Massachusetts governor, to undermine the president.

Romney wrote Trump’s conduct in office and recent actions in world affairs had “defined his presidency down.” Romney was outspoken in his opposition to Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign.
