Zion National Park continues to be open to visitors, but as the partial federal government shutdown enters its fourth week, non-government organizations are struggling to keep a skeleton crew working to provide basic services.
The Spectrum of St. George reports that about ten percent of the normal number of federal workers are active in the park.
Those workers consist of park security and some custodial workers, while trail maintenance, resource management, and educational staff are being furloughed.
